We ask all our Kindy friends to bring a named water bottle, hat and spare clothes daily please.
Our Approved Kindergarten Program is designed to help children transition successfully into school. The program is highly-regarded by preparatory teachers at schools as one that develops above-average educational and social emotional skills. We have formed a partnership with our local school who assists with the ease of transitioning by visiting the Kindy children in the later part of the year, talking with them about what Prep is like, read stories and make them feel a little easier with their transition into formal learning.
Children who are 4 years of age by 30 June in the year before Prep are entitled to 15 hours of free Kindy, 40 weeks per year (proof of birth is required). Please speak to office staff for further information.
The Kindergarten program is taught by university-qualified early childhood teachers, who are also trained in the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline. Your child will develop knowledge and skills necessary to begin their prep year, as well as a passion for learning.
Our Kindergarten room caters for children aged 3-5. In our Kindy room the younger children (3-4) are exposed to an environment which starts their preparation for school by providing them early knowledge to Kindy learning.
Our Kindergarten environment allows children to lead the educators through explorations and adventures that encourage them to learn, socialise, express opinions and create their own learning environments. Educators are open to your child’s ideas and will guide their social and emotional growth. Your child will experience many opportunities to explore, solve problems, develop friendships, use their creativity, and PLAY.
Time is taken to prepare children for a transition to school, and a life-long love of learning. We honour every child’s right to play and build on their existing learning from home.
